ACH TRANSFERS

An ACH, or automated clearing house, transfer is an electronic money transfer between credit unions and banks that allows money to be pulled from an account or to be “pushed” online to accounts or banks.

An ACH transfer is one of the main ways to send or receive money online.  ACH Transfers account for the online bill payments (I PAY) and make the direct deposits you receive, along with other transfers.

Types of HCCU’s ACH transfers

HCCU’s ACH transfers are processed in two ways

  • ACH debit transactions involve money getting “pulled” from an account. When you set up a recurring bill payment (I Pay), for example, the company you’re paying can pull what it’s owed from your account each month.

  • ACH credit transactions are when money is deposited into your account from another company or person (i.e. Direct Deposit)
